WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MUFLIHUN ABOUT MUFLIHUN HIGH SCHOOL

Having observed the presence of many private Islamic nursery and primary schools in Muslim-Ifelodun Area with just only three private Islamic secondary schools as at then, Muflihun High School was established in a serene environment of Muslim-Ifelodun in September, 2014 as a day school. The school started with JSS1, JSS2 and SSS1 classes with a total number of forty-seven (47) students for 2014/2015 academic session. By the end of 2015/2016 academic session, the total number of the students had increased to over one hundred. As for 2016/2017 academic session, the school enrolled about one hundred and fifty students. As at the time of publishing this 2018 yearbook, Muflihun students are around two hundred. Al-hamdulillah Rabbil-Alamin! Ma Sha Allah, La quwwata illa Billahi. Muflihun High School for now operates only secondary school with classes from JSS1-SSS3.

APPROVAL STATUS

Muflihun High School is a government-approved school. It was approved by Oyo State Ministry of Education on 6th April, 2016 and incorporated by Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on 27th May, 2016. In 2017, Muflihun High School became a BECE/NECO accredited school. Serious efforts are ongoing in getting accredited for West African Examinations Council (WAEC). Al-hamdu lillahi Rabbil-Amin


SCHOOL HOURS

The school opens from Monday to Friday between 7:30am and 4:30pm with the exception of public holidays. However, weekend practical classes and other relevant extra classes are sometimes organized for our students. The time between 8:10am and 1:55pm is for modern education while from 1:55pm to 2:30pm is reserved for Salatuz-Zuhr and snap lunch. Arabic and Quranic memorization classes begin immediately at 2:30pm and end by 4:30pm after which Asr prayer will be observed. Dismissal of the students follows immediately after Salatul-Asr.

THE SCHOOL FACILITIES

The school has necessary learning aid facilities which include: standard and well equipped science laboratory; ICT room with more than ten computers, printers; photocopiers; well equipped Home Economics Laboratory; Basic Technology Workshop; Cultural and Creative Arts Room; recreational facilities; well equipped and standard library among others. THE SCHOOL PROGRAMMES

The school concurrently runs both quality Islamic and modern education systems through NERDC, WAEC and NECO Syllabuses. Other school activities include: daily Arabic class/Quranic memorization; computer appreciation skills (practical oriented); morning, afternoon and weekend extra classes for JSS3 and SSS3 students; entrepreneurial subjects; intensive holiday coaching; excursion to important places; science practical classes; guidance and counseling, weekly Islamic training classes; Ramadan radio programme and lots more.

MUFLIHUN PROPRIETOR’S PROFILE

The proprietor of Muflihun High School Ustaadh Rasheed Adekunle Haashim is a Nigerian Muslim scholar, Islamic preacher, prolific writer, researcher, counsellor and academic. He was born some forty years ago to the family of Haashim Olapade of Aidoko clan, Ibadan Oyo State. He is happily married and blessed with children

EDUCATION

Rasheed A. Haashim attended Ifelodun Community Primary School, Ibadan {1986-1991} after which he proceeded to Eleta High School, Ibadan {1992-1998). He concurrently learnt Arabic and Tajwid at Arabic Institute of Nigeria (Ma'adul-Arabi An-Naijiri) and Zakariyah Institute of Quranic Memorization, Ibadan (1998- 2002). He was given admission to study Arabic at University of Ilorin, Nigeria in 2002 where he obtained B.A degree in Arabic in 2005. He got M.A. degree in Islamic Studies from University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 2011. He is presently a Ph.D researcher at University of Ibadan. He had his NYSC at Nana Aishat College of Islamic Theology, Damaturu, Yobe State between 2006 and 2007. Since then, he has been teaching at different levels of education up till now. His areas of interest include: Tafsir, Tawhid, Hadith, Fiqh, Arabic morphology and Islamic studies.

POSITIONS HELD

Rasheed A. Haashim was the Amir (President) of Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) in Eleta High School (1997/1998) and the Amir of MSSN University of Ilorin Branch (2004/2005). He concurrently held the post of Vice President of Muslim Corpers’ Association of Nigeria (MCAN), Yobe State Chapter and Secretary General of MCAN, North Eastern Zone (2006/2007) during his national service.

WORKING EXPERIENCE

Rasheed A. Haashim had taught Arabic, Islamic Studies and Al-Qur’an at Al-Falahu Model Nursery and Primary School, Ibadan (2005-2006), Nana Aishat College of Islamic Theology, Damaturu, Yobe State (2006-2007), Mufat Islamic Model College, Ibadan (2007-2008), Ummul Qura High School, Ibadan (2008-2011), Qiblah High School, Ibadan (2011-2014), Institute of Islamic Heritage, Ibadan (2007-2016) and An-Najah Islamic Institute, Ibadan (2009-2016). Presently, he is the proprietor and director of Muflihun High School, Muslim-Ifelodun Area, Ibadan where he teaches Arabic, Islamic Studies and Al-Qur’an.

PUBLICATIONS

Muflihun proprietor is a prolific writer who has published more than fifteen books including those he co-authored. The Islamic Studies textbooks he wrote for junior secondary school 1-3 have been approved by National Examinations Council (NECO) a national examination body in Nigeria. Likewise, many of his articles have been published in the annual magazines of various branches of MSSN and MCAN. He has over three hundred of his thought-provoking and inspiring articles and lectures at DAWAHNIGERIA. He writes and edits books on Arabic language and Islamic Studies for Spectrum, Zeem and Rasmed publishers.

BOOKS WRITTEN

TRANSLATION

He has translated into English the popular work of Imam An-Nawawi Al-Arba'ina An-Nawawiyyah with the title: "Living by An-Nawawi's Forty Prophetic Traditions". His other translated works are yet to be published.
